Girls Empowerment Through Beauty Skills
Our Braiding & Cosmetology Program is part of Young & Empowered's Girls Empowerment initiative, serving 60-80 girls per year. We empower young women through professional beauty skills training, mentorship, counseling, role modeling, and social entrepreneurship education to help them achieve economic independence.
Students master professional braiding techniques, hair care, makeup artistry, client consultation, and salon management. Our holistic approach combines technical skills training with business education, life skills development, and mentorship to help young women launch successful beauty businesses in Lunzu, Blantyre.
Weekly Training Schedule
Monday to Thursday, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Traditional and modern braiding styles
Master a variety of braiding techniques from classic cornrows to contemporary protective styles and extensions.
Makeup, skincare, client consultations
Learn professional makeup application, skincare routines, and how to conduct effective client consultations.

Essential business training covering salon operations, service pricing, inventory management, and client retention.
